From Tudela´s rich calendar of events, there are three fundamental dates for any Tudelano/a or visitor:
This is the main festival in Tudela held from July 24-30 coinciding with the town´s patron saints days. Merriment, colour and a festival atmosphere take over the whole town. Tudela´s streets provide the scene for the festival activities, varying from the traditional St.Ana and Santiago processions to the bull-running and bull fights, as well as concerts and celebrations held by local groups.
This includes events such as the 'Volatín', in which a firework display representing the hanging of Judas takes place, and the 'Bajada del Ángel'(the Descent of the Angel), in which a child sheds the mourning veil of the Virgin Mary on Resurrection Sunday. The Tudela Holy Week is considered to be a Festival of National Touristic Interest.
Vegetable Gastronomy Week. In May Tudela´s “homage” to the vegetable is held, commonly known as the 'Semana de la Verdura', during which the various types of locally grown vegetables are promoted. The events held include gastronomic trails, talks, displays and competitions.
